Advantages of Cyclone Separator

The advantages of cyclone separator such as high grading efficiency, fine grading granularity, simple structure, large processing capacity, small footprint, easy maintenance, making it widely used in concentration, classification and dehydration operations in concentrators. The cyclone separator is a device that uses the centrifugal force generated by the rotary motion of the pulp to perform classification.

Principle of Hydrocyclone

With a certain pressure, the pulp is fed into the cylindrical cylinder of the cyclone along the tangential direction to make a rotary motion. Coarse particles in the slurry are subjected to greater gravity and inertial centrifugal force, and move downwards along the wall of the cylinder, forming an external spiral flow, and finally discharged from the sedimentation port. Because the fine particles in the slurry are subjected to relatively small gravity and inertial forces, and the slurry is continuously fed, their downward movement is restricted by the cone-shaped cylinder. Therefore, the fine particles and the liquid medium rotate upward along the center of the cylinder to form an internal spiral flow and finally are discharged from the overflow port.

Advantages

1. Fine classification granularity, up to 0.074mm.

7. The slurry stays in the cyclone for a short time and is easy to handle when it is stopped.

Disadvantages

1. Large power consumption of the sand slurry pump, but the high grading efficiency can make up for this loss.

2. The parts wear quickly, mainly the feed port and grit port. Therefore, the cyclone is generally lined with polyurethane wear-resistant parts, which are wear-resistant and easy to replace. The size of the grit port can be adjusted.

3. It is required small fluctuations in the feed particle size, slurry concentration, and feed pressure. Otherwise, it is easy to cause fluctuations in the classification quality.

Tips: standard operation, most of the shortcomings affecting the quality of the finished products can be avoided and reduced.
