The Maintenance Of Spiral Chute
Date: 2025-08-06 From: Longding Author: admin
As a highly efficient mineral separation device, the spiral chute plays a vital role in modern mineral processing. Its unique structural design and separation principles enable it to demonstrate exceptional performance in a wide range of mineral processing applications. Cleaning and maintenance of the spiral chute are crucial in daily operation. Regularly inspect the operating condition of all equipment components and promptly replace worn parts to ensure stable and reliable operation.
Spiral chutes are inclined flow separation equipment, operating based on the gravity separation of mineral particles on an inclined surface. When a slurry of minerals is conveyed down an angled chute or slope, the water flow causes the particles to loosen and stratify. Lighter minerals flow out of the chute quickly, while heavier minerals remain within or are discharged at a lower rate from the bottom. This separation method effectively recovers both concentrated ore and tailings.
Spiral Chute Maintenance
1. Inspecting the Rubber
When cleaning the chute, carefully check for any wear or punctures on the rubber, and for leaks or seepage from the bottom. Repair or replace any damage promptly.
2. Inspecting Welds and Screws
Check all welds for any open welds and check for loose connecting rods, lead screws, and screws. Repair any open welds and tighten any loose screws.
3. Avoid Heavy Pressure and Corrosion
Avoid walking on the chute surface or placing heavy or sharp objects. Avoid spilling grease, oil, or alkaline or acidic substances on the rubber to prevent corrosion.
4. Preventing Sun and Weathering
When the chute is not in use for extended periods, place some sand in the chute to prevent sun and weathering.
5. Lubrication
Ensure proper lubrication, apply grease regularly, and check the reducer gear oil. Check grease every 15 days and the gear oil every three months.
These maintenance measures can effectively extend the life of the spiral chute and ensure efficient and stable operation.
