The Correct Operation of The Hydrocyclone

Date: 2022-04-27     From: Longding     Author: admin

A hydrocyclone is a separation device for solid-liquid two-phase fluids. The correct operation of the hydrocyclone affects separation efficiency and effectiveness. So what is the correct way to operate a cyclone?

The proper operation is one way to use the cyclone efficiently. How the cyclone works:

1. Before starting the commissioning, make sure that all the connection points of the cyclone unit are tightened. Remove various residues in the pipeline and the unit box to avoid leakage and blockage after starting the machine. Be sure to fully open the cyclone valve in service.

2. The valve can be fully opened (such as a running cyclone) or fully closed (such as a backup cyclone), but is not allowed to be half-open (the valve is not allowed to control flow).

3. The feed to the cyclone can be provided by pumping or head tank. If the pump matches the cyclone throughput, the pressure gauge shows a constant reading. To ensure that the pressure gauge reading does not fluctuate, if there is a significant fluctuation, check the cause. The equipment is required to work under pressure not higher than 0.3MPa.

4. When the equipment is running smoothly under normal pressure, check the leakage at the connection point and take remedial measures if necessary.

5. Check for blockage caused by debris entering the cyclone. Blockage of the cyclone feed port will reduce overflow and grit flow. The blockage of the cyclone grit chamber will reduce or even cut off the grit flow, and sometimes violent vibration will occur. In case of blockage, the cyclone feeding valve should be closed in time to remove the blockage. In order to prevent clogging, the hydrocyclone group feed pool can be equipped with facilities to prevent coarse materials and sundries (such as a dust removal screen). At the same time, the feed tank is emptied in time when the machine is shut down, so as to avoid blockage accidents caused by precipitation and high concentration when it is restarted.

6. When the equipment is proved to be running well by the clean water test, the slurry can be input for operation.
