What Are The Characteristics of a Reducer?

Date: 2025-07-17     From: Longding     Author: admin

The speed reducer is a power transmission mechanism that uses a gear speed converter to reduce the motor’s rotational speed to the desired speed, thereby generating a high torque. A speed reducer is a relatively precise machine designed to reduce speed and increase torque. Speed reducers are generally used in low-speed, high-torque transmission equipment.

Characteristics of a reducer

1. High transmission ratio. The transmission ratio for single-stage reduction is 1/6-1/87. For two-stage reduction, the transmission ratio is 1/99-1/7569; for three-stage reduction, the transmission ratio is 1/5841-1/658503. Multiple-stage combinations can be used to achieve a specified speed ratio.

2. High transmission efficiency. Because the meshing elements utilize rolling engagement, the single-stage transmission efficiency is generally 90%-95%.

3. Compact structure, small size, and light weight. Compared to conventional cylindrical gear reducers, the size can be reduced by 2/1-2/3.

4. Low troubleshooting and long life. The main transmission meshing elements are ground from bearing steel, resulting in excellent mechanical properties and wear resistance. Because of the rolling friction mechanism, they are trouble-free and have a long life.

5. Smooth and reliable operation. Because multiple teeth engage during transmission, the operation is smooth, reliable, and quiet.

6. Easy assembly and disassembly, making them easy to maintain.

7. Strong overload capacity, impact resistance, small inertia moment, suitable for frequent starting and forward and reverse operation.
